Indian equity indices ended on a negative note for the third consecutive session on December 17.
Sensex ended 120.21 points lower at 84,559.65, whereas Nifty concluded 41.55 points down at 25,818.55.
Shriram Finance, SBI, Eicher Motors, Hindalco Industries, Tata Consumer were among top gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Max Healthcare, SBI Life Insurance, HDFC Life, Trent, Apollo Hospitals.
Indian rupee ended 66 paise higher at 90.37 per dollar on Wednesday versus previous close of 91.03.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 533.50 points lower at 84,679.86, whereas Nifty concluded 167.20 points down at 25,860.10.
