The Indian equity indices ended on a positive note with Nifty near 25,800 on January 12.
Sensex ended 301.93 points higher at 83,878.17, whereas Nifty concluded 106.95 points up at 25,790.25.
Coal India, Trent, Asian Paints, Tata Steel, JSW Steel were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers included Eicher Motors, Infosys, Bajaj Finance, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles and Bajaj Auto.
Indian rupee ended flat at 90.16 per dollar on Monday against Friday’s close of 90.16.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 604.72 points lower at 83,576.24, whereas Nifty concluded 193.55 points down at 25,683.30.
