Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar: A man walking along the road near the Waluj police station was critically injured after coming under a sugarcane-loaded tractor trolley on Sunday morning. The incident occurred near the Waluj police station. He later died during treatment, reports Lokmat Times.
The deceased has been identified as Shivnath Eknath Pawar (51), a resident of Konhewadi village in Gangapur taluka of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. He was living in the Shivarai crematorium area of Waluj and earned his living as a daily wage labourer. He usually travelled on foot in the area for work.
According to information, the accident took place around 11 am near the Zilla Parishad school in Waluj village. Pawar was walking on the road when a tractor carrying sugarcane with two trolleys passed by. He reportedly lost his balance near the second trolley and fell under its rear wheel. Due to the heavy load, he suffered serious injuries.
The accident led to chaos at the spot. Local residents rushed to help and, with the support of Bharat Sable and Vitthal Pawar, the injured man was taken to the Government Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Doctors examined him and declared him dead at around 1 pm.
Pawar is survived by his wife, mother, one son and two daughters. Police have registered a case of accidental death at Waluj police station.
Residents have raised concern over the growing number of accidents in the Waluj industrial area, citing frequent movement of sugarcane-loaded tractor trolleys, heavy vehicles and increasing traffic as key reasons.
