Indian equity indices gave up gains with Nifty closing at 25,320 . 65 on January 30.
Sensex was down 296.59 points to close at 82,269.78, whereas Nifty concluded 98.25 points down to 25,320 . 65.
Biggest Nifty losers were Hindalco, Tata Steel, Coal India, ONGC, ICICI Bank, while gainers were gainers were NESTLEIND, Tata Consumer, Apollo Hospitals, M&M, ITC.
Indian rupee ended lower at 91.99 per dollar on Friday versus previous close of 91.95.
In the previous season, Sensex ended 221.69 points to close at 82,566.37, whereas Nifty concluded 76.15 points up 25,418 . 90.
