Domestic Market
Domestic sugar price traded higher
Domestic sugar prices were reported higher by Rs 20-30 per quintal across major markets. Reports of lower sugar production, particularly from Maharashtra and Karnataka, due to excess rainfall is supporting the prices in the spot markets. Additionally, recovery rates are now expected to be lower than initially anticipated, which could further tighten supply.
In Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, M-grade sugar was quoted in the range of ₹4,000–₹4,120 per quintal, steady compared to the previous session. Meanwhile, in Kolhapur, Maharashtra, S-grade sugar traded at ₹3,620–₹3,680 per quintal, also steady versus the last session.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $408.00 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 14.64 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 429-0 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.57750s.
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 91.862 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.2120 Crude WTI traded at $65.25 a barrel. Sensex closed 296.59 points down at 82,269.78 whereas Nifty closed 98.25 points lower at 25,320.65.
