The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Council has approved a duty exemption on up to 20,000 tonnes of raw sugar, according to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The measure is aimed at supporting Kyrgyzstan’s agro-industrial sector, stated 24.KG.
Importers must provide a document from an authorized Kyrgyz authority confirming the purpose of the goods and listing the importers and processing enterprises.
The raw sugar must be used exclusively for industrial processing within Kyrgyzstan. White sugar produced from duty-free raw sugar cannot be exported to other Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) countries.
