Indian benchmark indices recovered, with the Sensex closing at 83580 and the Nifty nearing 25700 on February 6.
The Sensex ended 266.47 points up at 83,580.40, while the Nifty closed 50.90 points higher at 25,693.70.
Top gainers on Nifty were ITC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bajaj Finance, Bharti Airtel, HUL, while losers included Tech Mahindra, TCS, HDFC Life, Asian Paints and Bajaj Auto.
The Indian rupee ended lower by 31 paise at 90.66 per dollar on Friday, compared with the previous close of 90.35.
On Thursday, the Sensex ended at 83,313.93, while the Nifty settled at 25,650.
