Indian benchmark indices extended their rally on February 18, with the Sensex rising 283.29 points and the Nifty gaining 93.95 points.
The Sensex closed at 83,734.25, while the Nifty ended at 25,819.35.
Top gainers on the Nifty included Tata Steel, HDFC Life, ITC Limited, Tata Consumer Products and Axis Bank. Among the top losers were Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Eternal Limited, Wipro, Tech Mahindra and Adani Enterprises.
The Indian rupee ended flat at 90.67 against the U.S. dollar, compared with the previous close of 90.68.
On the previous trading day, Tuesday, the Sensex had settled at 83,450.96, while the Nifty closed at 25,725.40.
