Indian benchmark indices continued their rally on February 23, with the Sensex gaining 479.95 points and the Nifty rising 141.75 points.
The BSE Sensex closed at 83,294.66, while the Nifty 50 ended at 25,713.
Top gainers included Adani Ports, Dr Reddy’s Labs, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Life and Nestlé, while the major losers were Hindalco, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and HCL Technologies.
The Indian rupee ended higher at 90.88 per dollar on Monday, compared with Friday’s close of 90.98.
On the previous trading day, the Sensex had settled at 82,814.71, while the Nifty closed at 25,571.25.
