Indian benchmark indices closed lower on February 27, with the Sensex declining 961.42 points and the Nifty losing 317.90 points.
The BSE Sensex closed at 81,287.19, while the Nifty 50 ended at 25,178.65.
Among the top Nifty losers were Dr. ReddyтАЩs Labs, Bharti Airtel, InterGlobe Aviation, HDFC Life and Sun Pharma. The gainers were Trent, HCL Technologies, Infosys, Apollo Hospitals and Jio Financial.
The Indian rupee ended lower at 90.97 per dollar on Friday, compared to the previous close of 90.91.
In the previous trading session, the Sensex had settled at 82,248.61, while the Nifty closed at 25,496.55.
