Mawana sugars gets relief as tax liability of Rs 1.22 lakh cancelled

Mawana Sugars Limited has received relief in an ongoing legal matter after the authorities cancelled a penalty of Rs 1,22,415 imposed on one of its units in Uttar Pradesh.

In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges on February 27, 2026, the company said that the Office of the Joint Commissioner (Corporate Cell), State Goods and Services Tax (SGST), Meerut, had earlier issued a notice alleging that three cases of double e-way bills were generated on a single invoice. Based on the notice, a liability of Rs 1,22,415 was imposed on the companyтАЩs Nanglamal Sugar Complex.

The company challenged the demand by submitting a representation before the Joint Commissioner. After reviewing the submission, the authority cancelled the imposed liability.

Mawana Sugars informed the exchanges that there has been a change in the status of the proceedings, as the penalty has now been withdrawn. The company added that since the matter has been resolved, details related to settlement terms, compensation, or financial impact are not applicable.

The update has been shared with the members of the stock exchanges as part of the companyтАЩs disclosure requirements under the listing regulations.
