Indian benchmark indices closed lower on March 2, with the Sensex declining 1048.34 points and the Nifty losing 321.95 points.
The BSE Sensex closed at 80,238.85, while the Nifty 50 ended at 24,865.70.
Among the top Nifty losers were L&T, Interglobe Aviation, Adani Ports, Jio Financial, Adani Enterprises. The gainers included Bharat Electronics, Sun Pharma, ONGC and Bharti Airtel.
The Indian rupee ended lower at 91.47 per dollar on Monday, compared to the previous close of 90.97.
In the previous trading session, the Sensex had settled at 81,318.32, while the Nifty closed at 25,178.65.
