Domestic prices stable to weak
Domestic sugar prices witnessed a steady to weak sentiment today in the major spot markets. Prices were reported lower by Rs 5-10 per quintal in Muzaffarnagar. As per the market sources, despite the lower monthly quota, buying interest is reported to be dull, which is keeping prices lower despite the expected lower production.
In North India, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar was quoted at тВ╣4,020тАУтВ╣4,100 per quintal, lower by Rs 10 per quintal compared to the previous session. Meanwhile, in western India, S-grade sugar prices in Kolhapur were reported at тВ╣3,690тАУтВ╣3,730 per quintal, supported by sluggish buying interest.

At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #The 5 front month contract is trading at $419.80 ton, whereas the New York Sugar # 11 The front month contract is trading at 14.46 c/lb. The corn futures market trades at 460-2 and the ethanol Chicago trades at 1.86500s.
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 92.5215 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 5.2333 Crude WTI traded at $93.39 a barrel. Sensex closed 1470.50 points down at 74563.92 whereas Nifty closed 488.05 points lower at 23,151.10
