Domestic Market
Domestic prices remained stable
Domestic sugar prices remained steady across major spot markets for the second consecutive session. According to market sources, despite a lower monthly release quota, buying interest stayed subdued, which continued to keep prices under pressure.
ISMA released sugar production data up to 15 March 2026. As per the update, Indian mills have produced 26.21 MMT of sugar, up 10.5% year-on-year. Around 157 mills are currently operating, compared with 182 mills during the same period last year.
In North India, M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar was quoted at ₹4,020–₹4,100 per quintal, unchanged from the previous session. In western India, S-grade sugar in Kolhapur was quoted at ₹3,690–₹3,730 per quintal, with the market remaining supported by limited buying activity.
