All India weather summary & forecast bulletin – 06 July 2022

According to the latest reports by India Meteorological Department, the significant weather features are as below :

♦ The Low Pressure Area now lies over Kutch & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto mid tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height. It is likely to move further westwards and become less marked during next 24 hours.

♦ The monsoon trough is active and south of its normal position. Its western end is very likely to shift gradually northwards from tomorrow.♦ An east-west shear zone runs roughly along 20°N between 3.1 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level tilting southwards with height across North Peninsular India.

♦ The off-shore trough at mean sea level runs from Gujarat coast to Karnataka coast.

♦ A cyclonic circulation lies over north Odisha & adjoining Chhattisgarh in lower tropospheric levels.

♦ Under their influence;
i) FWS/WS rainfall & thunderstorm/lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Telangana and Karnataka during next 5 days.
a) Isolated very heavy rainfall very likely over Gujarat region on 06th, 07th, 09th & 10th; NIK and Kerala & Mahe on 06th; Saurashtra & Kutch on 06th, 07th & 10th; Madhya Maharashtra on 10th; Coastal Karnataka on 07th & 08th; Telangana & South Interior Karnataka on 06th & 07th; Vidarbha on 08th; Chhattisgarh on 07th & 08th July, 2022.

b) Scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy rainfall also likely over Konkan & Goa during next 5 days and isolated extremely heavy rainfall likely over Coastal Karnataka on 06th; Gujarat Region on 08th; Saurashtra & Kutch on 08th & 09th and over ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra during 06th-09th July, 2022.
ii) Isolated/scattered rainfall activity very likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during next 5 days with isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall also likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on 06th & 07th July, 2022.
iii) FWS/WS rainfall & isolated thunderstorm/lightning with:
a) Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan & Muzaffarabad on 08th & 09th and over Himachal Pradesh & Uttarakhand on 06th, 07th & 10th July, 2022.
b) Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall also likely over HP & Uttarakhand on 08th & 09th July, 2022.
iv) Isolated/scattered rainfall activity with isolated thunderstorm/lightning very likely over East Uttar Pradesh during next 5 days and over West Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi and Rajasthan during next 48 hours and increase thereafter becoming fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity likely over the region during 07th-10th July, 2022:
a) Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Punjab & Haryana, Chandigarh during 06th-09th; West Uttar Pradesh on 08th & 09th; East Rajasthan
on 06th & 10th and over West Rajasthan on 07th, 08th & 10th July, 2022.
b) Isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall also likely over West Rajasthan on 09th and over East Rajasthan during 07th-09th July, 2022
