All India weather summary & forecast bulletin – 11 July 2022

According to the latest reports by India Meteorological Department, the significant weather features are as below :
♦ The Low Pressure Area lies over Northwest Bay of Bengal off Odisha coast with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto upper tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height.
♦ The monsoon trough is active and south of its normal position.
♦ An east-west shear zone runs roughly along 20°N in lower & mid tropospheric levels tilting southwestwards with height across North Peninsular India.
♦ An off-shore trough at mean sea level runs from Gujarat coast to Karnataka coast.
♦ Under their influence;
i) Fairly widespread/widespread light/moderate rainfall & thunderstorm/lightning with isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Gujarat State, Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam,
Telangana and Karnataka during next 4-5 days.
a) Isolated very heavy rainfall very likely over East Madhya Pradesh & Marathawada on 11th & 12th; West Madhya Pradesh, Saurashtra & Kutch, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka during 11th-13th; Odisha & Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 11th, 14th & 15th; Telangana & Vidarbha on 13th; Chhattisgarh on 12th & 15th; Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra & Gujarat Region on 15th July, 2022.
b) Isolated/scattered heavy to very heavy rainfall with isolated extremely heavy falls also very likely over south Gujarat Region, ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan & Goa during 11th- 14th; Saurashtra & Kutch on 14th & 15th; Chhattisgarh on 11th; Telangana and Vidarbha on 11th & 12th July, 2022.

ii) Isolated/scattered light/moderate rainfall activity very likely over Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal during next 5 days with isolated heavy rainfall also likely over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal on 11th & 12th July, 2022.

iii) Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall & isolated thunderstorm/lightning during next 5 days with:
a) Isolated heavy rainfall very likely over Himachal Pradesh during 11th-14th and over Uttarakhand on 12th & 13th July, 2022.

iv) Isolated/scattered light/moderate rainfall activity with isolated thunderstorm/lightning very likely over Uttar Pradesh during next 5 days
and over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh & Rajasthan on 11th & 12th and fairly widespread to widespread on 13th & 14th July, 2022.
a) Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Punjab & Haryana-Chandigarh on 13th & 14th and over south Rajasthan during 11th-14th July,
2022
