Baghpat: Sugarcane crushing season begins in sugar mills

Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh: Sugarcane crushing season began in the Baghpat, Ramala, and Malakpur sugar mill on Friday, according to amarujala.

In Baghpat, the cooperative sugar mill began crushing season with a puja ceremony. District Magistrate Jitendra Pratap Singh said that the mill had already paid off all outstanding dues to farmers. He also instructed mill officials to ensure that farmers do not face any problems.

MP Dr. Satyapal Singh and DM Singh honored farmers Yaseen and Shan Mohammad of Asara village who had brought sugarcane to the Ramala sugar mill. They also honored farmers Ravindra and Sukhbir Singh of Baghu village who had brought sugarcane to the Baghpat sugar mill.

The Ramala sugar mill also began crushing with a puja ceremony. MP Dr. Satyapal Singh and Chhaprauli MLA Prof. Ajay Kumar handed sugarcane into the mill’s conveyor belt.

Baghpat sugar mill will begin full-scale crushing on November 6, and Ramala sugar mill will begin on November 7. The three sugar mills in Baghpat have issued an indent for 60,000 metric tons of sugarcane to begin the crushing season.

In Malakpur, the sugar mill began crushing with a puja ceremony. The first farmer to bring sugarcane to the mill, Suresh, was honored with a turban and garland. The mill has set a target of crushing 1.6 million metric tons of sugarcane in the current crushing season.
