Bajaj Sugar creates awareness with Kisan Pathshaala initiative

Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar had organised a 75-day long ‘Kisan Paathshala’ at their Gola Gokarannath sugar mill in UP. The programme was launched on 1st February 2024 and ended on 15th April 2024. The programme was held across 8 villages and covered more than 700 sugarcane farmers.

The training programme was designed to create awareness. The activities at the ‘Kisan Paathshala’ covered various points like- Deep ploughing & laser levelling benefits, soil and seed treatment benefits, trench method / wide row planting benefits, use of balance fertilisers/micronutrients benefits, cane propping and earthing up benefits, ratoon management, irrigation, fertilizer application, inter-culture operation, management of insects/pests and diseases and weed management.

The company said that the 75-day long programme was designed to see an all-around impact on new and improved variety planting, increase in cane yield and improved cane quality.

Commenting on this, Ajay Kumar Sharma, MD of Bajaj Sugar said “Farmer engagement and their welfare has always been crucial for us at Bajaj. We have to work together to ensure that we achieve efficiency in productivity etc. Keeping this in mind, the programme was designed. And we hope we will see the benefits of the programme soon with increased sugarcane recovery and increased sugarcane supply”.
