Bihar: Authorities to also assess damage to sugarcane crop

Patna, Bihar: The agriculture department has asked the DMs to assess crop damage suffered by the farmers both due to rainfall and floods.

As per the news report published in The Times of India, Agriculture minister Amarendra Pratap Singh said that the decision has been taken on the directions issued by the chief minister Nitish Kumar and the instructions have been issued to the concerned authorities to conduct the crop damage survey based on this.

Similar to paddy and other kharif crops, the assessment of the damage caused to the standing sugarcane crop will also be done for compensation to the farmers.
