Baikunthpur, Bihar: Former MLA and JDU spokesperson Manjit Kumar Singh met DM and submitted memorandum related to sugarcane farmers issue, reports Live Hindustan.
He demanded that the government should fix the cane price before starting the crushing season and the administration should ensure that the fixed amount is paid to the farmers in due time. He also asked the administration to ensure that the farmers should get benefits announced under Chief Minister Sugarcane development scheme.
Sugarcane farmers suffered heavy losses as their cane crop was damaged due to floods in 2020 and he urged the DM to ensure that the farmers get compensation for the crop loss.
