Bihar’s first ethanol plant to start functioning by March next year

Ara: The first ethanol plant in Bihar’s Ara would start operations by March 2022, said State industries minister Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Saturday.

Manufacturing ethanol in the state would help in achieving the centre’s set target of blending 20 per cent ethanol with petrol by 2025. Setting up ethanol plants in the state would generate employment in the state.

It is the first state in the country that has announced the ethanol production policy in Bihar. The state is promoting ethanol production to become one of the leading ethanol producers in the country.
