Cane Commissioner/Registrar takes strict disciplinary action in corruption case of Kisan Sahakari Chini Mills Ltd

Commissioner, Cane and Sugar and Registrar, Co-operative Cane and Sugar Mill Societies, Shri Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy told that following the State Government’s policy of ‘Zero Tolerance’ on corruption; strict action is being taken against the erring officials. In the same sequence, in the case of embezzlement found in The Kisan Sahakari Chini Mills Ltd., Bilaspur District-Rampur, while taking strict disciplinary action against all the guilty officials who caused financial embezzlement of Rs.181.33 lakh to the sugar mill, recovery orders have been issued against the erring officers.

Giving detailed information in this regard, the Registrar told that the case of financial loss/embezzlement in Rudra Bilas Kisan Sahakari Sugar Mills Ltd., Bilaspur, Rampur come into light, some time back. On this issue, a detailed inquiry was conducted by District Magistrate, Lucknow. In the inquiry at Cooperative Sugar Mills, Bilaspur financial irregularities of Rs.181.33 lakh were found in repair maintenance, overtime payment, payment to daily wages workers, payment to contract labor, payment for hiring seasonal employees in off-season, administrative expenses, purchase of electrical items, purchase of diesel and purchase of rejected bagasse, etc. Mr. D.P. Singh, the then General Manager, Shri A.K. Das, the then Chief Engineer, Shri Premkant, the then Chief Chemist, Shri M.P. Singh, the then Chief Chemist and Shri I.U. Khan, the then Chief Accountant were found guilty in the investigation and orders for recovery under Section 65 and 66 of the UP Co-operative Societies Act 1965 have been issued by the Registrar, Co-operative Sugarcane and Cooperative Sugar Mills Societies, Uttar Pradesh against the guilty officers.
He also informed that in addition to the above officers, other officials Mr. Saurabh Bansal, the then Chief Accountant and Mr. Triloki Singh, the then Chief Cane Officer were also found guilty. Managing Director, UP Co-operative Sugar Mills Union Ltd., Lucknow has been directed to take strict action against them.

It is made clear by the Registrar that the policy of ‘Zero Tolerance’ on corruption is being followed as per the instructions of the Government, and if any employee is involved in corruption and embezzlement etc., then strict disciplinary action will be taken against them so that it may become an example for others.
