Cane crushing at Ramala Sugar mill halted for 36 hours due to technical glitch

Meerut: Ramala cooperative sugar mill stopped cane crushing for 36 hours due to the technical glitches. This made sugarcane farmers angry, following they staged protest. The mill becomes operational on Sunday after the technical issue was resolved.

The farmers that had arrived at mill with their cane started agitation, which resulted into traffic at national highway. Later on, police intervened and convinced the farmers, after which agitation was called off.

On Sunday afternoon the mill started operations and farmers were relieved. Meanwhile, cane growers claimed that due to this delay, they had to face problems. They alleged that mill regularly keeps facing some technical fault and farmers have to bear the brunt of this.
