Cane Development Department released figures of District wise average yield on the basis of crop cutting

Lucknow: Commissioner, Cane and Sugar, Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy told that on the basis of crop cutting calculations of 45 sugarcane producing districts of the state, the figures of average yield for the crushing season 2020-21 have been released by the department. Due to the successful implementation of the schemes by Cane Development Department and hard work of the Cane farmers there is an increase in the average cane yield of the State in the crushing season 2020-21, which touched a record level of  815.00 qt/ha. According to the data, District Shamli of Saharanpur region ranked first in Uttar Pradesh with an average yield of 1004.28 qt/ha. District Muzaffarnagar with an average yield of Rs 923.20 and Meerut with an average yield of Rs 911.76 qt/ha. ranked second and third respectively.

Giving detailed information in this regard, Cane Commissioner has told that the average yield has increased in comparison to the last crushing season. Emphasizing on the process of average yield calculations, he said that every year crop cutting of sugarcane crop is done by the department to collect the data of Cane production. This crop cutting program is carried out under the supervision of Gazetted officers working in the nearby Cane districts, and district wise figures of average yield calculated on the basis of sugarcane crop cutting are issued by the department.

The Cane Commissioner said that the average Cane yield of the state is increasing continuously. For this, along with the departmental officers and personnel working at the field level, cane farmers of the state deserves credit.
