CM urges Centre to grant permission to set up 2G ethanol refinery in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Bhupesh Baghel, Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, has urged the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to grant permission to set up a 2G ethanol plant in the state.

Baghel has written a letter to Shah urging him to grant permission to set up an ethanol production plant through oil marketing companies. A senior official stated that the residue of the paddy crop will be used as raw material for the 2G (second generation) ethanol refinery.

“We have requested to grant permission to set up an ethanol plant to use crop residue,” CM said.

This will help in reducing the environmental pollution caused by burning agricultural residues and will help in better waste management in urban areas.
