Committee formed in Goa starts working to revive sugarcane sector

Panaji: A committee formed in Goa to look after the welfare of the sugarcane farmers will revive the sector and bring its glory back, said its chief former Lok Sabha MP Narendra Sawaikar.

The Goa government has formed the 23-member committee to find a solution over the issues related to the sugarcane farmers associated with the Sanjivani sugar mill.

“We will take steps to encourage farmers to increase the area under sugarcane cultivation and bring back the sector’s glory” he further added.
