Andhra Pradesh: CPI writes to CM to take steps to clear pending cane dues

Vijayawada: The Communist Party of India (CPI) has urged the AP government to take steps to clear the pending cane dues of the farmers immediately, reports The Hindu.

CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna has written a letter to Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy on December 26 and requested him to take required steps to ensure that the farmers get their cane dues.

“The farmers in the state are yet to receive pending dues worth Rs 120 crore. The farmers are agitating for their dues. The chief minister should not forget the promise his party made during the state Assembly elections,” he further added.
