Mixed cues reported in Domestic Sugar prices

Mixed sentiment was witnessed in domestic sugar prices, with prices rising higher in Uttar Pradesh and stable in other centers. Demand is reported to be good, which is supporting the prices at the major centers. A smaller increase in monthly quotas in Uttar Pradesh, combined with rumors of an early closure, is supporting prices. The monthly quota for Uttar Pradesh is 0.6% higher per month than that of Maharashtra, which is 12% higher.

M-grade sugar in Muzaffarnagar costs between Rs 3,750 and Rs 3,790 per quintal, while S-grade sugar in Kolhapur is said to sell for between Rs 3,410 and Rs 3,450 per quintal. Agrimandi predicts that in the next two weeks, the price of S grade sugar in the Kolhapur market will probably fall between Rs 3,400 and Rs 3,550 per quintal. In Solapur, however, prices were said to vary from Rs 3,330 to Rs 3,400 per quintal.
