Domestic Market
Domestic sugar prices continue to fall
Sugar prices have been reported to be lower in the major domestic markets due to weak demand. According to reports, prices per quintal have dropped by Rs 10. Buyers prefer hand to mouth because prices are expected to remain low due to the ongoing crushing season.
In Kolhapur, S-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,600 and Rs 3,650 per quintal, while M-grade sugar costs between Rs 3,930 and Rs 3,980. According to Agrimandi, S grade sugar will trade for between Rs 3,600 and Rs 3,720 in Kolhapur markets over the next two weeks.

International Market
At the time of writing this update London White Sugar #5 front month contract is trading at $728.40 ton, whereas the New York Sugar #11 front month contract is trading at 26.63 c/lb.
Currency, Commodity & Indian Indices
The rupee traded against the US dollar at 83.366 whereas USD was trading with BRL at 4.9255, Crude futures traded at โน6563, Crude WTI traded at $78.64 barrel. Sensex closed 86.53 points higher at 66988.44 whereas Nifty ended 36.55 points higher at 20133.15
