Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries’ Board grants approval to set up grain-based distillery

Dalmia Bharat Sugar & Industries will be setting up a 250 klpd grain-based distillery at the Nigohi unit apart from expanding capacity at the Ramgarh sugar unit in Uttar Pradesh, Projects Today.

The Board of the company has on April 5 approved the above proposals. The company will be spending Rs 400 crore to set up the grain-based distillery and it is expected to start operations by September 2024. The company has raised funds through debt and internal accruals for the project.

With this project, the total distillery capacity of the company would be around 1100 klpd (600 klpd from a cane-based plant and 500 klpd from a grain-based plant).

The company would expand the capacity of Ramgarh’s sugar unit from 6600 tcd to 7000 tcd by spending Rs 14 crore.
