Demand to increase salary before starting sugarcane crushing season

Dhampur: The association of sugarcane transporters and cane weighing clerks has threatened to launch an agitation if their demands are not met before starting the crushing operation.

Association’s President Man Singh said, “At present, there are 195 clerks operating in the sugar mill. Their wages are low, therefore we urge sugar mill administration should hike their wages to Rs 25,000 per month.”

The Association also demanded that the employees should not be posted outside the zone of the sugar mill for the work. Kuldeep Sharma, sugarcane GM of the mill, said that demands have been conveyed to the management.
