Egypt’s GASC announces tender to import sugar

The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) in Egypt has declared a tender to procure 50,000 metric tonnes of raw sugar and/or 50,000 metric tons of refined white sugar, sourced from any origin, on behalf of the Egyptian Sugar & Integrated Industries Company, reported Reuters.

The refined white sugar intended for human consumption should be provided in 50-kilogram packages, as outlined by GASC.

Prospective offers are expected to be submitted for the arrival periods of Feb. 29 – Mar. 15, 2024, and/or Mar. 16-31, 2024. Payments, utilizing funding from the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), will be made on a sight basis.

Offers should be presented in either Egyptian pounds or U.S. dollars on a CIF-free out basis. The deadline for submitting offers is Jan. 13.
