Rampur, Uttar Pradesh: Five sugar mill workers attached with Rana Sugar Mill workers who were on night duty to obstruct the entry of unregistered sugarcane carrying vehicles for crushing were killed and three others injured after the SUV they were travelling in collided head-on with a bus speeding near Bandar village in Rampur district on Wednesday.
In the accident, Mill employees Mukesh, Harbeer, Shiv Charan, Diggu and Amit were killed on the spot.
Speaking to reporters, Narendra Tyagi, SHO, Shahabad Kotwali where the incident has been reported said, “The SUV that was carrying the mill employees collided with a private bus on its way to Bijnor. We have launched the hunt for bus driver who ran away from the spot after the accident. The bodies have been handed over to the victim’s families after post-mortem.”
