Flood damages sugarcane crops grown in over 24 villages

Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh: For the past 25 days, the floodwaters in the Gangapar have exacerbated the difficulties faced by residents in the lower areas. The sugarcane crops of farmers from 24 villages are on the brink of crop loss, according to livehindustan.

Even feed for livestock has become a pressing concern, as people are forced to travel 20 to 30 kilometers to acquire it. Presently, floodwaters persist in 60 villages in the lower regions, and over 40 boats are being used for evacuation.

Residents are remarking that such prolonged flooding has not been experienced before. In Gangapar, more than a dozen roads have been severed at various places due to the floods.

In the Amritpur area, the sugarcane crops of farmers from 24 villages are standing amid floodwaters. There is serious concern about their potential destruction, causing anxiety among the farmers.

Waterlogging has affected transportation, and even contact roads have been disrupted. The road leading to Dandipur has been cut, with water flowing over it. In response, people are rerouting their paths to avoid waterlogged areas. Water is also present on the road near Bharakha, causing difficulties. Water has yet to recede from SalemPur Road, causing access issues to SalemPur Hospital. Water is flowing on the road near Rajepur Crossing. Many challenges have emerged for the residents of Har Singh Pur Kayaasth and Manja Ka Madaiya, as they are surrounded by various water-related problems. The inundation is causing distress to the affected people.
