Goa: Theft reported at closed state-run sugar factory

Ponda: Despite the official shutdown of production at the Sanjivani Sahakar Sakhar Karkhana, a state-run sugar factory located at Dayanandnagar-Dharbandora, factory officials traced unidentified persons stealing valuables from its godown., reported The Times of India.

A formal complaint has been lodged at the Ponda police station regarding this matter.

According to Ponda police, Shyam Prabhu, the storekeeper of the factory, discovered through CCTV surveillance footage that two individuals entered the factory’s godown and absconded with valuables estimated to be worth around Rs 3 lakh.

“Prabhu lodged the complaint on Monday, and after conducting a preliminary investigation, we have registered an offense of theft against unidentified persons on Friday,” stated Ponda police.
