Jaggery units found preparing jaggery by recycling outdated sugar

Yamunanagar, Haryana: Local administration raided two jaggery units located in Bilaspur subdivision and found that they were recycling outdated sugar and jaggery for the manufacture of jaggery.

The local administration team comprising Food Safety Officer Prem Singh, Naib Tehsildar and others raided the jaggery units on Tuesday and found that the outdated sugar and jaggery was recycled to prepare jaggery.

The team also noticed that there were unhygienic conditions at the jaggery units and the workers were found not wearing masks and not following social distance rules.

According to the news report published in Tribuneindia.com, Chandra Pal said, “We conducted a raid at two jaggery units on Tuesday. Samples of jaggery have been sent for examination. Further action will be taken after the arrival of the report.”
