Kaithal Farmers Call Off Protest After Twenty Days, DC Says Panel To Probe Chip Scam

Kaithal, Jan 15 (UNI) Bhartiya Kisan Sangh (BKS) activists on Tuesday called off their protest after twenty days, here, following Deputy Commissioner(DC) Dharamvir Singh’s assurance to meet their demands soon and also informed that a committee headed by DSP Ram Kumar will investigate into the alleged Chip scam, the report of which will be submitted within two months.

Two representatives of Sangh Gultan Nain and Randeep Singh Arya will also be part of SIT, the DC added .

He also announced that action against all those mill functionaries, who had been indicted by a committee comprising of Mill directors and mill accounts department incharge and found guilty of their alleged involvement in irregularities that took place in the Sugar mill during recent past will be taken after the New Mill MD assumes charge on Wednesday.

The farmers prior to starting agitation had pointed that they were being cheated by mill staff as their sugar cane was found less on mill weighing machine as against weighed at private weighing machine.

Earlier on Tuesday Om Singh Chauhan state president BKS and other leaders addressed the farmerson Mill premises and said that if they did not get justice they will again start their agitation and Dharna .
