Karnataka: PSSK to start cane crushing from July 29

Pandavapura, Karnataka: Pandavapura Sahakara Sakkare Kharkhane (PSSK) will start cane crushing on July 29. The mill is presently run by Bagalkot based Nirani Sugars of MRN Groups.

Initiating the process to start operations, the boiler of the mill was ignited by fire after performing rituals and puja on Sunday.

According to the news report published in starofmysore.com, Shivananda Salagar, General Manager of the sugar mill said,“The sugarcane crushing will start from July 29. The cane crushing capacity of the mill is 3,500 tonnes per day and we are planning to crush 8 lakh tonnes of sugarcane this season.”

Noting that about 8 to 10 lakh tonnes of sugarcane is grown in the surrounding areas of PSSK, he said that the mill will make all possible efforts to crush all sugarcane available in the region.
