Karnataka: Sugarcane farmers intensify agitation demanding higher cane price

Hubballi: Sugarcane farmers have intensified their agitation demanding a higher Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) and warned that they would launch jail bharo if the government fails to accept their demand, reports The Hindu.

They are staging an agitation in the office building premises of the Deputy Commissioner’s office in Dharwad since Monday and intensified their agitation on Wednesday.

They have stated that the cost of production has increased by 20% and their demand for higher cane prices is justifiable.
