Farmers under the banner of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha have called for a Mandya bandh on December 19 to protest against the government’s delay in announcing hike in sugarcane price, reports The Hindu.
For the last six months, farmers have been agitating for an increase in cane price but the government has not paid attention to their demand, said KRRS. More than 15,000 farmers will gather in Mandya and take out a procession over their demand, as per KRRS.
