Maharashtra BJP chief demands relief for flood-affected farmers of Marathwada

Mumbai: State BJP chief Chandrakant Patil has demanded the state government provide immediate aid to flood-affected farmers of Marathwada. He has demanded Rs 60,000 per hectare relief for soybean and Rs 1 lakh per hectare for sugarcane as heavy rains and flood caused major loss to the farmers.

According to the news agency PTI, Patil said that relief should not be delayed citing the code of conduct as a reason.

Several parts of the state including Marathwada were severely affected due to heavy rainfall that caused flooding and damage of the crops including sugarcane and soybean.
