Market opens higher; Sensex rises 160 points

Mumbai: On account of strong global cues, the Indian indices rose in the opening bell today. BSE Sensex today on 6th September 2019 was trading 164.05 points higher at 36,808.47 at 9:30 am. On the other hand, the NSE Nifty too rose 44.15 points at 10,892.05 in morning trade. Similarly, at 10:02 am, Sensex was trading 162.97 points higher at 36,807.39 points, and Nifty was trading 44.80 up at at 10,892.70 points.

Tech Mahindra, Bharti Airtel, Axis Bank, NTPC, Axis Bank, ONGC, Tata Motors, Infosys, PowerGrid and RIL were among the top gainers rising up to 4.70 per cent.

Sun Pharma, Yes Bank, HDFC duo and HCL Tech were among the top losers falling up to 2.47 per cent.

On the currency front, the Indian rupee appreciated 12 against its previous close to trade at 71.72 in early session.

The global oil benchmark Brent crude was trading 0.26 per cent higher at 61.11 per barrel.
