Mill’s sugar recovery rate crosses 10 per cent after 20 years

Sonipat, Haryana: The profit of Sonipat sugar mill increased by more than Rs 20 crore this season, reports The Tribune.

The recovery rate of the mill has crossed 10% for the first time in 20 years.

Around 500 sugarcane farmers from around 185 villages organised a programme and felicitated the MD of the sugar mill Dr Anupama Malik and gave her credit to increase the efficiency of the sugar mill.

During the last few years, the mill was not operating fully to its capacity due to several reasons like damage of the old machinery and the crushing used to stop midway. This time the mill ran full to its capacity throughout the season.

Malik said that the mill had crushed 30.75 lakh quintal sugarcane this season and produced 3,08,600 bags of sugar. The mill had produced 2,76,070 bags of sugar during the last season.
