Moradabad: Sugar mills get notice for not clearing cane dues

Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh: District administration has issued notices to the sugar mills for not clearing the cane dues of sugarcane farmers. On the orders of the District Magistrate, notice has been issued to the sugar mills.

According to the news report published in Livehindustan.com, District Cane Officer Dr. Ajay Singh said that the district collector issued notices after taking a review of the pending cane dues in the district.

Sugar mills in the district have so far cleared 70 per cent cane dues. The District Collector has asked the mills to clear the pending cane dues immediately.

Sugar mills of the state have paid 100 per cent cane price to farmers against the due cane price of Rs.35,898.85 crore for the crushing season 2019-20.

It is also noteworthy that Cane commissioner Sanjay R. Bhoosreddy is regularly monitoring the cane price payment and giving instructions to Departmental officers to speed up the cane price payment by pressurizing the sugar mills.
