Our government revived sugarcane sector in Uttar Pradesh: CM Yogi Adityanath

Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Our government has completely transformed the sugarcane sector with timely payments to farmers and reopening closed mills, said Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath.

He was speaking at Lok Bhawan on the occasion of completing 4.5 years of the government.

Apart from increasing farmers’ income and ensuring they get their cane payments in time, we have succeeded in reviving closed sugar mills that were closed during the earlier government’s reign, he said.

He said, “The government has paid more than 84.29% dues this season, which is the fastest in 50 years. The mills had procured 1,028 lakh tonnes of cane worth Rs 33,025 crore and have paid Rs 27,837.52 crore to the cane farmers so far.”
