Pakistan: Five including sugar mill owner booked for stealing seized Sugar bags

Jhang, Pakistan: Athara Hazari police have booked five persons including owner of a sugar mill for stealing 7200 bags of sugar each weighing 50 kg from the custody of district administration.

As per media report, the sugar was seized from the mill for non-payment of payment under the Land Revenue Act 1967 on the orders of the deputy commissioner in March 2020.

The seized sugar was kept with the local revenue officials. The owner of the mill and his four employees stole the sugar from the revenue office.
Based on the complaint of the revenue official, Police registered a case against the suspects under sections 379 and 188 of the PPC. Police are further investigating the case.
