Pakistan issues tender to purchase 50,000 tonnes of white sugar

Hamburg: According to the news agency Reuters, European traders said on Friday that the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has floated a tender to purchase 50,000 tonnes of white sugar.

The traders stated that the deadline to submit tenders is April 27. Pakistan did not purchase 50,000 tonnes of sugar after the floating tender last time that closed on Wednesday.

The Pakistan government in July 2020 had approved the importation of sugar after the country faced a shortage of sugar and prices of commodities were skyrocketing.

Following this TCP issued a series of tenders to import sugar.
As per the new tender, the shipment of 25,000 tonnes of sugar is expected within 25 days from the opening of a letter of credit and remaining after 10 days of first delivery.
