Pakistan Sugar Mills Association splits into two factions

Islamabad: The Pakistan Sugar Mill Association has witnessed split into two factions over a series of issues including leadership problems.

The one group is headed by the current chairman Nouman Ahmed and another faction has declared itself a progressive group.

According to the media report, the spokesperson of the progressive group has stated that Jahangir Khan Tareen, leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party is dominating and influencing the PSMA activities which are harmful to the sugar sector in the long run.

He said, “We do not want to associate with any political group and don’t want any politics in the business. We will soon announce the strategy and future course of our action when the appropriate time arrives.”
