Pakistan: Sugar prices likely to surge in Utility Stores

Sugar prices at Utility stores are likely to increase by Rs 7 per kg taking it from Rs 68 to Rs 75 per kg. According to the media report, the Ministry of Industries and Production has proposed the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) to increase the prices of sugar by Rs 7 per kg.
The ministry has also proposed to increase the prices of wheat and other commodities like ghee.

Last week the Pakistan sugar mill owners had stated that the prices of sugar are likely to increase in the domestic market as the production cost of sugar has been increased.
