Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Tareen offers sugar at a cheap rate

Islamabad: Pakistan is facing a sugar crisis, therefore it is taking all measures to come out of this grim situation. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Khan Tareen has declared to contribute his share to the government initiative to provide basic commodities to masses at a low rate by providing sugar to Utility Stores Corporation (USC) at a discounted rate.

Jahangir Khan has written a letter to USC chairman informing to sell 20,000 tonnes of sugar at Rs 67 per kg to the government enterprise.
Imran Khan, Prime Minister of Pakistan had in January offered a relief package for utility stores across the country to regulate the prices of commodities of daily use.

In utility stores, the sugar was available at a discount of Rs 7 per kg while the sugar in the open market was available at Rs 75 per kg.
